take your pick, each misspeaks the facts and expects us to accept it as the truth…

 

Rona vacations on billionaire’s yacht
Is society’s value system undergoing a major revolution? Where are we headed in reporting? In journalism? In the media? Just consider the Huffington News story about Rona Ambrose’s recent Caribbean holiday.

Good for the goose…or Was the Canadian electorate goosed, again?
As reported in the Huffington post, “The Conservatives confirm their interim leader took a Caribbean vacation on a billionaire’s yacht around the time members of her caucus were criticizing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for vacationing on a private island owned by the Aga Khan.”

The report goes on to say, “The acting Conservative leader and her partner J.P. Veitch soaked up the sun last month on the yacht of energy mogul Murray Edwards around the islands of St. Barths and Saint Martin.”

The electorate learning to accept anything
It’s a sad to observe how society accepts more and more with less and less criticism. A short time earlier, Trudeau was severely criticized for his Caribbean holiday. Now, Ambrose escaped the kind of criticism Trudeau experienced because  “she was more open about her holiday.” The moral of the story is “Your culpability for wrong doing is decreased by owning up to it.”

Society going the wrong way
Is society headed in the wrong direction in relation to wrongdoing and responsibility? Alternative facts, misspeaking, political correctness…the new universe of 1984 becoming the norm?
