Alka Joshi

Two-time New York Times BestSeller award, Alka Joshi knows how to tell a story. Her two books, The Henna Artist and The Secret Keeper of Jaipur deserve all the acclaim each has received.

Joshi is an American author with family roots embedded in Indian/Pakistani soil. Both of her books confirm she is very proud of her ancestry and incorporates aspects of it throughout her two works. Recipes, language, traditions, customs are woven into her tales embellishing her stories with a rich tapestry of Indo-Pakistani cultural treasures.

Even readers who eschew stories based on that culture will be very surprised how this raconteur weaves stories that engage more deeply, page after page after page.

A wonderful writer and a very colourful and dynamic woman.
