I am Ayesha Sardar—your candidate for Pickering City Councillor Ward 2.
I am a mother of two wonderful kids and wife of a caring and supportive husband. I have a Master’s in Business and Psychology and did my undergrad in Commerce. I’m the Executive Director of Public Allies, which is a not-for-profit organization based in the Durham Region that’s dedicated to supporting seniors, vulnerable women, and disadvantaged youth. It also helps in raising awareness about mental health in the community and uplifting small businesses. I have also been serving the community of Pickering as a member of the Pickering Cultural Advisory Committee.
I was introduced to the concept of sharing and caring at a very young age. My family has always been passionate about community and is actively engaged in it. My Dad taught me that the best way to live your life is to give back to your community, and I have tried my best to follow and implement that in my life. Working in my community allows me to contribute towards changing it for the better.
This fall, I’m running to represent the voice of the common residents of Ward 2 in Pickering. I want to ensure that Pickering achieves its potential to become a well-rounded city with a self-sustaining economy by increasing investment, affordable housing, creating good infrastructure, making sure there’s reliable and readily accessible healthcare, creating a healthy environment, having more locally available entertainment and leisure options.
As a community, we will always face challenges and obstacles. However, if we work together and approach our problems with a positive mindset, we can surely reach our goals and succeed together in building a strong and vibrant community.
I am counting on your help and support to be your voice on the council.
Thanks for the opportunity,
Candidate, City Councillor Ward 2
