Pickering Police Chief Peter Moreira made a public statement regarding the killing of the 88 year woman in Pickering.
The chief thanked his investigators and the police officers involved in establish security and safety after the incident. The Chief also expressed his appreciation to the public for the full cooperation in sheltering in place when called to do so.
The Chief was restricted from giving more details as the Criminal Justice Act regulates these kinds of publicity statements very closely, especially in regard to minors. In this instance, the male suspect is 13 years old and he is currently in custody pending further judicial procedures.
