The Ontario government is investing an additional $8.9 million to support the redevelopment and expansion of Oak Valley Health’s Uxbridge Hospital site, connecting more people in Uxbridge and across Durham Region to world-class care close to home. In addition, the expansion at Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge will include a brand new 192-bed long-term care home co-located on the hospital campus, ensuring seniors in the community can receive the quality of care and quality of life they need and deserve. For more information, click here: Ontario Expanding Uxbridge Hospital and Adding New Long-Term Care Home Ontario Permanently Cutting the Gas Tax and Taking Tolls Off Highway 407 East As part of its plan to protect Ontario, the government is continuing to lower costs for hard-working families, support local businesses and put more money back into people’s pockets through its plan to permanently cut the gasoline and fuel tax rates, which would save households, on average, about $115 per year going forward. The government has also removed tolls from the provincially owned Highway 407 East, which is expected to save daily commuters an estimated $7,200 annually. As part of the preparation for refurbishment, the government has authorized OPG to sign a $2.1 billion contract with CanAtom for early engineering and procurement to prepare for the execution of the Retube Feeder and Boiler Replacement Program, creating more than 2,400 jobs across the province. The Ontario government is investing more than $3 million to support victims and survivors of crime. The funding is being delivered through the Victim Support Grant (VSG) program and includes $150,000 for the Durham Regional Police Service.
