R’s desk: Just a bunch of whining and complaining

Every now and then, a bit of whining and complainin’ soothes the irritated soul !

Here’s random selection of whining and complainin’ to relieve the irritated inner self:

Queen’s Park takes control of four school boards
The politicians at Queen’s park fail in their own jurisdicational areas. Consider crime, homelessness, inflation, rising prices, increased unemployement, aggression and abuse in society in general….and ask yourself if the failing politicians at Queen’s Park are going to succeed at taking over education.

Their goal may have merit but their likelihood of success, nil. What do they know about education? What do they know about teaching? What do they know about class instruction of young people?

These mpp’s know nothing if their track record is considered, But that applies to most politicians. They make claims, promise universal panaceas but their results are the same over and over and over.

Instead of accepting what these politicos promise, why not apply a penalty clause to their salaries. If prices rise a certain percent, if unemployment rises a certain percent, etc., apply that percentage reduction to the salaries of the politicians. Ain’t gonna happen cuz these politicians will never let it happen. If such a penalty were possible, you’d see the ranks of the politicos shrink faster than you can see dollars slip out of your hands.

BTW, apply the same penalty to school board executives when facts warrant it and watch how education is improved. In fact, this kind of salary penalty clause might work wonders in any elected public office. Most certainly, the number of applicants for those jobs would sure change.

Growing number of incidents of aggression in society today
Watch the news, any news and you are bound to hear about an incident where there is violence, aggression or outright physical attack. That’s our society. Someone offends you, respond with an act that is aggressive and physically so. Not to worry about anyone reprimanding you or point out the error of what you’ve just done. It is accepted in today’s world. So what’s the lesson for others. Hey, if other people can get away with it, why can’t I?

Gone are the days of parental punishment, reprimand or correction. School teachers? Are you kidding me. They can’t go correcting their little buddies. Other adults, only if they think there is absolutely no chance whatsoever of a response in kind, maybe even worse. Watch traffic incidents where you will see road rage that is unbelievable and emerging as quickly as the drop of a hat.

Nobody’s got the courage, the chutzpah or the balls to correct the recalcitrant offenders. Would you? Neither will I.
