READER COMMENTS about DINING OUT in DURHAM.
I invite you to send your comments about your dining out in Durham experiences.
The wife and I like to dine out a lot and recently we went to spot called Symposium at Rossland and Garden in Whitby. It was our second time there. It’s atmosphere is more modern than the decor attempts to portray (with its Mediterranean art and bric-a-brac ans high stack of wine bottles), but the food is not only very tasty (I had mussels in garlic that no garlic lover would turn down) but extremely well priced, the service staff was extremely delightful and quick. To top it off, the Owner (Zac?) came around to personally see how things were going (a very affable chap) and making sure the patron was being looked after without being overly intrusive. Perhaps we were lucky, but each of the two times we have been there, the waiting staff who serviced us has been both efficient and delightful (for us it takes a well trained service provided to know when to engage in banter beyond the essentials). And to top it off, the place offers daily themed specials which are quite attactive such as reduced prices on wine or two-for-one deals. I recommend that you check it out if you are looking for a good but not overly fancy place to dine out.
I have heard other friends recommending Symposium. Now after your comments, I am putting it down as a place to try out. Will do.
