For those who stand by homemade, here is the recipe for HOMEMADE CRANBERRY SAUCE:
INGREDIENTS
3 packages fresh or frozen cranberries
3 cups granulated sugar
2 oranges (juice + zest)
3 tbsp sherry or port (to be added at the end)*

METHOD
Rinse and pat dry the cranberries.
In a large bowl, stir together the ingredients.
Use a 9×13 glass baking dish.
Preheat oven and bake uncovered 350F, 30 minutes
Reduce oven to 325 F, and continue baking for an additional 30 min.

Remove from oven
*Stir in 3 tbsp sherry or port
The sauce will thicken as it cools.

The sauce can be made ahead and kept refrigerated for the occasion.

While the sauce is hot, it can be poured into hot sterilized canning jars. Turn jars upside down and allow them to cool.
The sauce will keep for several months.
