GOOD EATS: Bistro 67 – Durham College managed dining- Fine dining restaurant operated by Durham College. More sizzle, less steak…pretentious and presumptuous, but a near miss.
GOOD EATS: Amateurs, yes…but restaurateur Food pros- You can dine out, in style, and on quality, professionally prepared foods at an incredibly inexpensive tab. Centennial College can host you for an amazingly good lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch.
GOOD EATS: VIS A VIS: PIZZA the way it should be-  Vis – a – Vis 1101 Kingston Rd., Unit 85  Though it’s a franchise, it’s a franchise with pride in providing an outstanding product. In this case, it’s wood oven pizzas almost as good as nonna’s but from a really modern and … Continue reading
COOKz misc: Pilsners at Pickering Library…books and beer, stories and suds- Picture this: a tipsy Santa look- alike wearing lederhosen, lurching a bit leeward saying, “I’m a beer taster!” No way!       Mirella Amato is today’s beer taster: young, attractive, articulate and an entrepreneur. GOOD EATS: BALDINI’s ITALIAN BISTRO- It isn’t a pretentious place and it is very small, but the service is attentive and the food is very good. Any of the sea food dishes are very likely bought at the fish market within the last day for … Continue reading
GOOD EATS: AMICI: Buon gusto for sure!- Amici, an Italian trattoria, opened in Pickering for about two years. Without reservation (I couldn’t resist that one), in my opinion, it is the best Italian eatery in the entire Durham region. Owned by a Sicilian immigrant who came to … Continue reading
GOOD EATS: TUTTO BENE – outstanding Italian Thornhill eatery-  Tutto Bene Osteria “Excellent!!!”   Head chef Kee and pasta prince, Delroy, prepare dishes to  perfection.
