Some thoughts about corporate selfishness during the pandemic

One of our sources of information, North99, a political commentary organization points out a case of corporate selfishness.

Loblaws is getting a lot of good press right now. Their stores and pharmacies are administering vaccines and people are starting to see them in a better light.

Not so fast. This is the same company that stripped essential workers of their pandemic pay, despite recording soaring profits.

Their workers put their health at risk so Canadian families could put food on the table and Loblaws couldn’t even muster the compassion to pay them a living wage. Meanwhile, the Weston family who owns Loblaws has gotten $4.5 billion richer during the pandemic. [1]

Loblaws workers are getting sick as we speak, and the corporate executives won’t raise a finger to help them.[2]
