ELECTION SPECIAL: Analysis, commentary and summaries

In short, people were hoping for great changes. They were disappointed with more of the same. Some numbers have changed, but it’s the same old story in Ottawa. Same politicians, same kind of politicians we have had before. Occasionally, we’ll see one sprout up who is ethical, principled and has integrity as a politician, if that is possible. Jennifer O’Connell was that kind of politician, worked hard, gave her best to the government. Her reward, some low class subordinate “clerical assistant” type of positions. No wonder she quit.

In this parliament, we’ll have another winning politician in MP Fanjoy who defeated Poilievre. A man reputed as being caring, hard working, honest and devoted to making his city a better place to live. We wish him a long and successful career as a member of the House of Commons.

Jagmeet Singh seemed to have these positive same aspects to his persona, to no avail. The book’s cover was less appealing to voters than the desire for major change, something they did not get.
