A huge change is coming to IKEA in Canada.
The largest IKEA retailer, Ingka Group, announced Wednesday that the price of restaurant meals will be cut in half Monday through Friday.
Children will also be able to eat for free.
IKEA said that it’s making the move amid cost-of-living pressures, while still ensuring the company’s long-term growth.
IKEA said it’s also “refreshing its food offer with new dishes inspired by Asian flavours.”
Hundreds of millions of people visit IKEA restaurants every year, the company said.
The price cut will be offered in many IKEA markets throughout the world including Canada, Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
As an example, IKEA said that in France for a family of four to have lunch (which includes two hot meals with meatballs for adults and two meals for kids), it will cost 6.96 euros instead of 19.90.
The company didn’t say when exactly the change will be taking place.
