Dougie’s likely less astute than we might think. If he were sharp, he would have predicted the backlash in buying the plane. He did not. Instead, he did what any wimp of a politician does, he gave in to public outcries and reversed the plane decision. Planely allowing the public to determine govt policy, a weak way to govern.
Doug Ford should have this new plane.
The people criticizing Ford for purchasing this plane are being short-sighted. He needs this plane.
Ford travels thousands of miles to carry out his govt business, across the province, across Canada and into the USA, many states. He can’t efficiently cover these distances by automobile. That transportation mode may do for provincial destinations but that doesn’t hold either.
In short, Ford has to travel great distances to carry out govt business and though only effective and efficient way to do this is is by plane.
Transparency/Accountability
For those who want to scrutinize that Ford is doing things properly, the flight logs can confirm where, when Ford uses the plane and the media will confirm his doing govt business at the destination.
The bottom line
The office of the premier should have access to this transportation mode. In this day and age, time is money. The plane saves govt time.
