A comment about door-t0-door campaigners….
I prefer meeting my candidates face to face. So those who come to my door are more appreciated than any others. I would hope that all the Ward 1 candidates would knock on my door. So far, only three if the 7 candidates, have done so.
I will give those candidates much more consideration than the ones who I have never met.
An aside for a moment….with today’s technology, there is no excuse for a candidate to not know what doors/homes they have visited. One candidate I met was updating on his phone almost as we spoke. They were really on top of their game and that was gratifying to see, It meant, this potential councillor was current with use of technology, a necessary capability to have in this day and age and in the job of being a city councillor.
Door-to-door campaigning allows verbal interaction with the candidate, some discussion, and definitely some feel for who the person is. Of the three who knocked on my door, I was able to meet with two as I was home at the time. The other left a campaign flyer. Why I write about the technology capability, the candidate who had cell phone at hand, could update his phone to display personal visit with voter done. Smart use of technology.
