I was absolutely delighted to join the grand reopening of Kathryn’s restaurant, a long-standing local favourite here in Pickering.
After nearly three months of closure following a fire, it was truly heartwarming to see the doors open once again. Sharing this meaningful moment with the owner—and my good friend, Santhan—made it even more special. The emotion and pride in seeing Kathryn’s come back to life was genuinely moving.
As a fellow business owner, I deeply understand the resilience, dedication, and hard work it takes to
recover from an unexpected setback. Reopening after months of challenge is no small feat—it requires strength, determination, and an unwavering commitment to the community.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out this morning. It was wonderful to witness our community come together in such a powerful show of support and celebration for a beloved local business.
And I’m so happy to say it: Kathryn’s Restaurant is officially back and open for business!
