ELECTIONS: Some candidates show attention to detail

At one point, candidate Stacey Lepine Fisher, was criticiized as being an unfamiliar name in Ward 2. The criticism still stands based on talking with some Ward 2 residents/voters who expressed total unfamiliarity with the name.

This is usually the problem for new candidates and why voters need to take the time to learn more about their candidates, their promises and their persona.

Lepine-Fisher has been categorized as a long shot based on lack of name familiarity. That assessment still stands despite the low number of voter contacts. L-F has to knock on many more doors and interact with many more voters to turn this around.

Personal contact with a canidate reveals a lot about the candidate. Our contact with L-F led to learning that she has a very broad and extensive interaction with the community. Then, in communicating with her, she takes the time to respond with thoughtful and diligent replies…viz. her personal email…..

[Good Morning, Richard
Thank you very much for your thoughtful response, and please, no apology is necessary. I completely understand how hectic life and work can become, some days I feel like I’m in a hamster wheel!
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to review my professional background and update your election material. Your acknowledgement that my experience merits serious consideration means a great deal to me, and I’m grateful that you have encouraged your readers to take a closer look at my candidacy.

Thank you for explaining the Tim Hortons discussion group, I appreciate the context.

I also genuinely appreciate your candid feedback about my name recognition in Ward 2. While I have lived in Pickering for nearly 30 years and have spent much of my career serving children, families and communities throughout Durham Region, I recognize that residents may not yet know my name or the full scope of my work and how my competencies and skills would serve well at City Hall. I take your observations seriously, and they reinforce the importance of continuing to introduce myself, listen to residents and clearly communicate the experience and values I would bring to Council.
Thank you again for your openness, your reconsideration of my candidacy and your kind wishes. I truly appreciate the exchange and hope we will have an opportunity to continue the conversation over coffee sometime soon.
I will be hosting ‘Morning Coffee with Stacey’ and ‘Afternoon Tea Times with Stacey’ in the coming weeks.  I’d love it if you’d join me.  I’ll be sure to send you the details once everything has been pulled together.

Thanks again, take care,

Stacey]

This reply shows a person what cares about small things, pays attention to detail, covers the bases well.

Ward 2 voters should follow up on this note. Learn more about this candidate and how she works. From what is seen here, this is the kind of councillor residents would want in office but again, the information here needs more beefing out to come to that conclusion more solidlly. Still, L-F seems to offer much more than first glances suggest.
