ROBINSON, LISA – Meet the candidate

Mayoral Candidate
Pickering Municipal Election, Monday, October 26, 2026

Lisa Robinson, Pickering mayoral candidate

Lisa Robinson, the current Ward 1 City Councillor, is running for Mayor of Pickering under the campaign theme “Return City Hall to the People.” She describes herself as an independent, taxpayer-first councillor and says her campaign is about every resident who has ever felt ignored by City Hall.

Long-Time Resident, Realtor and Paralegal

Robinson is a long-time Pickering resident and the mother of a teenager. She says she has spent more than 20 years in real estate helping families, holds a paralegal diploma and is a published author.

Active in the Community

Robinson founded the Robinson Annual Halloween Haunt and Corn Maze, which she says raises thousands of dollars each year for charity, and created an initiative called Project Humanity. She says she also volunteered legal services during the pandemic and donates to local charities each year.

A Lone Voice on Council

Robinson calls herself the one councillor who refused to fall in line. She acknowledges that council has sanctioned and criticized her during the term, and says that happened because she would not stop asking questions on behalf of residents. To those who call her divisive, she answers that Pickering needs honest debate, transparency and accountability rather than forced agreement.

Why She’s Running

Robinson says residents are paying more and receiving less while facing rising costs for housing, food, insurance, utilities and property taxes. Her platform has four planks: a line-by-line budget review, an end to what she calls strong-mayor overreach, protection of free speech at City Hall, and real consultation with neighbourhoods before development proceeds. She says she would not use the mayor’s office to silence council, and would treat taxpayer money like household money.

In Her Words

“I’m not running to be accepted by City Hall. I’m running to return City Hall to the people.”
— Lisa Robinson
