Emma Cunningham is a currently elected Durham District School Board trustee for Pickering who has championed student safety, equity, and human rights at every opportunity. A mother of two children in the public school system, she knows from her own experience what a strong public education can do for a student.
Emma is an Associate Director of Strategy at a Toronto media agency. She holds an MBA and has won a Silver Cannes Lion, a Gold CMA, and three Clio Awards. She has also taught strategy to advertising students as a college professor. She is a clear communicator who gets to the root of an issue and isn’t afraid to raise it at the Board table.
In the community, Emma was the Executive Director of Caremongers Pickering-Ajax, which supported isolated residents with groceries. She was also a member and press liaison for EANAP, which advocated for wetlands preservation. She has received a Queen’s Jubilee Pin and a Pickering Civic Award.
