RESPONSIBLE GROWTH WITH INFRASTRUCTURE THAT KEEPS PACE
I support thoughtful growth that considers the people who already live here and those who will make Pickering their home. Development decisions must account for roads, transit, water and sewer capacity, community services, green space, and neighbourhood character.
I will ask for clear, current evidence about infrastructure capacity, environmental impacts, and financial implications. I will advocate for meaningful resident input early in the planning process and work to ensure that growth-related costs are fairly funded.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND AFFORDABILITY
Residents need confidence that their tax dollars are being managed carefully. My experience in financial oversight and governance has taught me to examine costs, question assumptions and connect spending to measurable results.
I will scrutinize budgets, look for efficiencies, and pursue partnerships and funding opportunities. I will ask Council to revisit the City’s strategic priorities and performance measures so that commitments are realistic, adequately funded, and accountable to residents.
SAFE, CONNECTED NEIGHBOURHOODS
Strong neighbourhoods depend on safe streets, accessible public spaces, and opportunities to connect. I will advocate for practical traffic-calming measures, safer walking and cycling routes, and responsive attention to neighbourhood concerns.
I support accessible recreation and welcoming community spaces for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I will also advocate for consistent enforcement of property standards and other municipal by-laws that protect residents’ quality of life.
LOCAL BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTS
Local businesses and community organizations contribute to a thriving Pickering. I will listen to the challenges they face and support practical ways to strengthen their connection with the City.
My career has shown me what can happen when municipalities, businesses and community organizations work together. I will bring that partnership-building experience to Council to help expand opportunities and make the most of available resources.
MY COMMITMENT TO WARD 2
I will remain accessible, hold quarterly community conversations, and communicate clearly about decisions affecting our neighbourhoods. I will work respectfully with fellow councillors and City staff, ask difficult questions when necessary and assess proposals on their merits.
My promise is to bring preparation, integrity, independent leadership, and follow-through to the responsibility of representing you.
