This is absolutely shameful:
You read that right…35% increase !
absolutely shameful. There is no justification for this kind of increase whatsoever.
MPPs are grossly overpaid, beyond reason, beyond logical justification.
Consider what the majority of them do day to day. Sit in the provincial house at Queen’s Park and listen to their party big whigs snipe at opposing MPPs…bickering, whining, complaining and calling it debate.
OK grant that all this talk is how governments run, but too give themselves a 35% increase where the average schmuck at Queen’s Park cashes in to the tune of over $150,000 a year. The average salary for an Ontario resident is $69,000, roughly $80,000 less.
How can MPPs justify giving themselves a pay increase that is $80,000 more than the average salary of an Ontarian.
This is absolutely disgusting, shameful, disgraceful !!!
If their pay was so low, so demeaning, so base, why do so many keep campaigning for a seat? Their love of good government? Their passion to improve life in Ontario? To help Ontarians live better?
My ‘single mother living with her two children’ in a downtown hovel in Toronto must be really happy that she can vote for one of these representatives.
