Is this an example of our provincial government making us feel safer….
In mid-January, an alert was sent out regarding the Pickering nuclear facility. As it turned out, it was a false alarm. However, the statement issued by the Solicitor General of Ontario raises more troubling questions than relieving the anxiety caused by the alarm.
- Some residents never got the alarm. Why not?
- The phone alerts were not received universally. Why not?
- False alarm. How are residents to know when an alarm is real?
- Evacuation procedures: have all residents been informed appropriately in regard to evacuation procedures?
The false alarm has caused residents far more worry than relief !
