T**** has lost it.
He’s got the mind and memory capacity of a 80 year old. He says something and then minutes later, he says the complete opposite as if the first statement was never said.
Most people of his age likely experience the same problem when they lose something mentally that they just had a few moments ago. It’s a facet of old age. It is called AGE-RELATED FORGETFULNESS.
AGE-RELATED FORGETFULNESS
As people get older, the brain often becomes a bit slower at processing and storing new information, which can make someone:
- forget what they were just about to do
- walk into a room and forget why
- misplace something they had moments ago
- lose track of a recent conversation or task
This is generally considered a normal part of aging when it happens occasionally and doesn’t seriously interfere with daily life.
Why it happens
Several factors contribute:
- Reduced processing speed – the brain takes longer to encode new memories.
- Less efficient attention/focus – distraction makes it harder to “lock in” information.
- Weaker working memory – the mental “scratchpad” used to hold immediate thoughts becomes less sharp.
- Stress, fatigue, medications, or poor sleep can worsen it.
Occasional forgetfulness is different from dementia:
- Normal aging: forgetting where you put your keys, then later remembering.
- Concerning impairment: forgetting what keys are for, repeatedly getting lost, or inability to do familiar tasks.
In everyday speech, people often call these moments “senior moments.”
Trump is experiencing Age-related forgetfulness more and more. He recognizes it himself and deflects from it by saying, “I will do something in TWO WEEKS.” That deflection gets him off the hook so he has time to review, reconsider and modify his original promise. Many people now label T**** as TACO – ‘Trump always chickens out.’
T**** is not ‘chickening out.’ He is simply forgetting what he said earlier and to avoid looking like he has memory problems, he deflects and delays from the original statement.
No matter how this issue is rationalized, justified or explained, T**** has an aging problem that is common to most people in his age demographic. This problem may not be at the stage where he is really incapacitated, the difference explained with this example. “Where did I put my keys?” vs ‘Looking at a set of keys and not knowing what they are.’ ” T**** has not yet reached the latter stage…when he does, it will be up to the people surrounding him to act accordingly which could mean invoking the 25th amendment, replacement of the president by the vice president.
