Commentary regarding JUANITA NATHAN’S volunteers appreciation celebration

NATHANLiberal MP Juanita NATHAN held an appreciation celebration for her volunteers this week.

Nathan had a large number of volunteers working on her team, maybe 150 supporters attended the celebration which started at 6pm.

A delicious buffet was set up by the volunteers. Everyone hungrily loaded up their plates as they waited for Nathan.

A half hour later, most attendees had dug into second helpings by now, no Juanita yet.

An hour later, dinner completed, the supporters anxious now to greet Juanita, no Juanita yet.

An hour and a half later, the supporters were restless, I headed for the exit. No Juanita yet.

If this is an example of the courtesy and respect, then I have to go back to school to update what I learned about these characteristics. I was taught that respecting people meant promptness, courteous responses, proper attire…simply acknowledging that these people should be respected fully.

What I saw was discourtesy. This is not an example of respect and courtesy. It is an example of self-centredness and self-prioritizing. Elections bring in new representatives and we hope the new ones will be improvements over the old ones. What we have here in electing Nathan is a re-election of old time politicians, irresponsible, disrespectful, self-centred ones.

You think these kinds of politicians are going to improve life? Recently, the Ontario MPPs voted themselves a 35% salary increase. Do you think these kinds of politicians have the electorate high on their priority list? It is a sad statement to see these kinds of politicians elected and reelected. I guess “it is you get what you deserve or voted for.” Don’t expect much from the new Liberal candidate
