Of course in an ideal world-all minorities need to be recognized equally; respected and honoured for their contribution to Canadian society. However we tend to highlight groups most neglected throughout history. We know that purposeful neglect also applies to “women” -as many never made the history books! We celebrate women throughout the world for 1 day/yr.
