ELECTIONS: MELOCHE LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN

John Meloche, campaign launch, great success.

John Meloche launched his campaign launch at the Legion Hall, Aug 16, a tremendously successful event with more than a couple hundred attendees. Only Premier Doug Ford has had a bigger crowd at a campaign event at the Legion Hall in Pickering.

Meloche glad-handed every one of the attendees personally and personably, exchanging meaningful words with them, asking them about their concerns and responding constructively in the few moments of personal time with each.

The campaigning politician presented himself well to attending residents, projecting himself as a candidate who cares and listens. He asks the right questions and responded with solid answers to the questions posed by the participants.

The event felt more like a summertime BBQ celebration than a political rally with a table laden with hot dogs and burgers, salads and soft drinks. The attendants came with parents, grandparents, kids and grandkids enjoying an event that was more than a political rally. It was a summertime festivity for people to share some food a neighbour, chat a little with another Pickering and meet a promising political candidate.

Though it was a political event, Meloche toned it into a family event. Families brought their family members and had enjoyable exchanges with fellow residents, bantering and enjoying the fun event.

Not to overlook the purpose of the event, Meloche closed the festivity with some political remarks, most memorable of his promises, “to be accountable and to listen to constituents.” Meloche projected an image of a dedicated and committed councilor, definitely looking like a candidate that deserved serious consideration on Election Day, October 26.
