From the Campaign Trail…
Door knocking is an incredibly unique experience. We live in a world that is increasingly separated by technology, and while the world has never been smaller it has also never been further apart and lonelier. Door knocking confronts this harsh reality and brings you face to face with the people in your neighbourhood and city. It is a gruelling experience in many ways as the daily steps add up while the sun is blaring down. But it is also a very rewarding experience as you meet so many different people from so many different areas of life, all living side by side in peace and harmony in your neighbourhood and adjoining neighbourhoods.
There are so many interesting people in Ward 1 who care about their community and want to help build a great city; residents who have been here 40+ years and residents who have been here 1 month, they all have a part to play in our community because at the end of the day, community building is what it is all about.
Affordability continues to be a topic that is top of mind for most residents while many have a positive outlook for the future of this city, desiring good planning and management of growth. I am looking forward to the rest of the campaign and meeting so many more people.
