Lloyd Robertson, one of Canada’s most trusted broadcasters, died August 4, 2026, at 92. Born in Stratford, Ontario, he began his career at CJCS radio in 1952 before joining the CBC in 1956, eventually anchoring The National from 1970 to 1976. He moved to CTV in 1976, co-anchoring CTV National News with Harvey Kirck, then serving as senior anchor for 27 years until his 2011 retirement. Robertson covered Expo 67, the Moon landing, Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, and 9/11. He was inducted into the Order of Canada in 1997.
