Recently the Toronto Star published an excellent series series on auto theft in the GTA region. I cannot repost the series due to copyright regulations.
However, there are numerous take aways from this series that could benefit you greatly:
- Put your car into the garage
- Lock your car if it sits in the driveway
- Use protective Faraday bags for key fobs
- Use a steering wheel locking device
The bottom line: “Don’t trade personal injury for car retention.”
If thieves break into your home, threatening you, cooperate and give up your car. Your personal safety and your family’s are more important than any car.
