I’ve been speaking about how better technology, proper service tracking and clear accountability can make City Hall faster and more responsive. Residents should never have to repeatedly call or email wondering whether their concern disappeared into a black hole.
I originally advocated strongly for returning to weekly garbage collection. After listening to residents and digging further into the costs and logistics, I’ve shifted toward increasing curbside capacity by at least one additional bag and advocating for larger automated bins, while keeping weekly collection on the table if the numbers ultimately support it.
I’ve continued pushing for a practical approach that recognizes housing insecurity is already affecting people in our community. We need compassion, prevention and meaningful supports while still maintaining safe, clean and accessible public spaces.
I’ve completed a review of Pickering’s Bird e-scooter pilot. I support innovation and alternative transportation, but expansion needs to be driven by evidence, public safety, operator accountability and responsible enforcement.
More broadly, my campaign continues to focus on practical leadership: attracting real careers to Pickering alongside housing growth, responsible development, stronger neighbourhoods, taxpayer value, modernizing City services, public safety, and making local government more responsive and transparent.
I’d also like to personally invite you to my official campaign launch at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606 in Pickering. It’ll be a family-friendly afternoon with BBQ, music and community, rain or shine:
