Another year…and “Same old, same old” does not apply. Things do change, have changed. A bit slower, capable of doing less, remembering fewer things and less mentally sharp.
However, the world we’re in has changed and continuously changing. A pace that is stressful, endless innovations that are a challenge, more of everything and most of them upsetting rather than satisfying. Climate upheavals, fires and floods, wars and conflicts unabating, hunger and poverty, crime and violence. All these upheavals and turmoils are exacerbated by ceaseless population growth, 8.3 billion and counting. 2.2 new people every second.
Given all the above, it is gratifying to see a lot of good in the world. People still donate to charities, Food Banks continue to receive donations, many people do volunteer work to help others. So the chaos and bedlam our world displays masks the good that still exists. Maybe no longer prevailing, did it ever, but continuing the disruption in which we now live.
In these troubled times, we can only say we really do wish you a New Year with prosperity, health and joy…
