PICKERING: A message from Mayor Ashe

Hello Richard,

Like so many dog owners, I know how deeply our canine companions become part of our lives. My dog Hobbes is a constant source of joy, balance, and perspective, whether we’re out for a walk or simply spending quiet time together. Dogs have an incredible way of reminding us to slow down, stay present, and appreciate the simple moments.

I also want to extend my heartfelt condolences to Richard and his family on the loss of their beloved Scottie, Fermo. Anyone who has loved a dog understands the depth of that bond and how hard their absence can be. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I hope you’ll also consider joining me for Pickering’s first Telephone Town Hall of 2026 on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. It’s an easy way to stay informed, ask questions, and share your ideas about our city’s future, just answer the call and be part of the conversation.

I look forward to connecting with you.

Mayor Kevin Ashe
