PICKERING: POLAR PLUNGE BY PICKERING “Dips”…CHALLENGING TO EXPLAIN, MORE DIFFICULT TO DO IT

New Year’s brings out the ‘courageous’ or ‘crazies’ with many Canadians taking the Polar plunge into the freezing waters some local body of water. For Pickering ‘polar bears,’ Lake Ontario.

It is mind-boggling to understand why anyone would do this, plunging into Lake Ontario where water temperatures are near freezing and the air temperature is hovering around 5C. But here they are, Pickering residents who many would label as either outright nuts or inexplicably courageous. I would lean with the former rather than the latter.
