
About 2,000 people attended the City of Pickering’s Remembrance Day Commemoration at the Esplanade Park behind City Hall. The VIP list included representation from all government levels from federal to municipal, Liberal MP Juanita Nathan, Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy, and City Mayor Kevin Ashe along with Councillors Brenner, Cook, Nagy, Pickles and Robinson.
The Canadian Legion, Br. 606, led the commemoration festivities with emcess Sandy managing all the proceedings.
Highlight of the ceremony was the ringing of the memorial bell by representatives with various veterans and representatives of the Durham Police and Pickering Fire Dept.
