APPLE FILLING
Pre heat your oven 400 degrees.
Mix together the sugar, corn starch, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and set it aside.
Peel and slice your apples and add them to a bowl.
Pour the melted butter, vanilla, and lemon juice on your apples and toss around to coat.
Pour the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the apples and mix to coat the apples well.. Transfer the apples to a baking dish. I used a pie dish.
CRUMBLE
In a sauce pan melt 1T of butter on a medium heat.
Add the pecans to the melted butter and cook them until they are fragrant.
Take the pecans off the heat and put them in a bowl to cool down.
Mash together the sugar, butter, brown sugar, flour, and cooled pecans until you don’t see anymore flour.
Squeeze a handful of crumble in your hand to make a brick.
Then crumble the brick on top of the apples. This will give you big and small crumbles.
Repeat this until all the crumble is on the apples.
Bake the apple crumble in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes and then enjoy!
