Ann Telnaes is an acclaimed American editorial cartoonist known for her bold, incisive political commentary through visual satire.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, and raised in the United States, she became the second woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 2001. Her work has appeared in major publications including The Washington Post, where she served as staff cartoonist, as well as The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Le Monde. Her distinctive animated style and fearless approach to controversial subjects have made her a prominent voice in political cartooning. She has tackled issues ranging from women’s rights and immigration to political corruption and press freedom.

Telnaes is also recognized for her pioneering work in animated editorial cartoons, adapting her craft for the digital age. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to holding those in power accountable through her sharp wit and artistic skill, making her one of the most influential editorial cartoonists of her generation.
