James BLAIR [2nd place finish, 2022 Election]
Blair deserves serious consideration for council based on his strong CV. However, unless he knocks on many more voters’ doors, he remains a long shot as voter familiarity is still questionable even though he finished second in his 2022 camaign. A risky bet.
Maurice BRENNER (Rgnl) (nearly upset by Tom Hayes, 2022 Election, winner by 100 votes]
Incumbent, rock solid track record and reputation, Mayoral material, well known throughout the community and with the majority of voters. Solid bet to be returned but he knows not to presume and that every campaign demands effort and commitment. Brenner likely will deliver….safe, solid bet. [Late news: Brenner has been acclaimed.]
Abdullah MIR
New comer but campaigning like an experienced pro. Knocking on doors and shaking hands everywhere; CV may be his Achilles heal. Personable, articulate, a winning persona when met. He will make a decent show of it and he is receiving support from some notable campaigners running for Mayor and other Council positions. Solid candidate but fighting long odds because of voter unfamiliarity. A risky bet at best.
Jamie NYE
Unknown candidate, his Achilles heel also. Only path to decent results will be a lot of door-to-door handshaking but that won’t be enough to reach the brass ring this time round. His campaign is likely an insurmountable challenge. Save your bet.

Another unknown candidate; not likely to garner notable number of votes, definitely not enough for victory. May be in it just for the exposure? Save your bet.

A dark horse business woman campaigns like Teddy Roosevelt, “speaking softly but carrying a big stick;“ intelligent, articulate and successful business woman who brings all of that biz acumen to the political arena; presents herself very well and is very attune to the riding, its issues, and its needs. Is into her 2nd round of door knocking the 13,000 doorss of the riding. Vadivel has been to my door twice. She presents herself amazingly well for a rookie candidate. She seems very knowledgeable not only about the important riding issues but she seems very aware of the political turmoil within the Pickering council. This candidate should be given serious consideration and voters should make an effort to meet her in person as she seems to be a very strong consideration for Pickering Council office. She could surprise many people, if you like long shots and dare risky bets. This one is a nice bet.
