When talking with residents of Ward 1 the top 3 concerns I am hearing are:
1. The current proposal for the intensification of the Kingston Road Corridor and the effect that this will have on the community, small businesses and infrastructure.
2. There is a disillusionment with politicians and politics as a whole and a belief that what residents say doesn’t matter and won’t make a difference.
3. The high property taxes Pickering residents pay and the need to attract industry to diversify the tax base, which currently is primarily residential.
